There's an app for that...

I received an email the other day from Visit California announcing their new iPad app. While I was searching for it in the app store on my iPad, I discovered many other California travel related apps that are new or I had not previously seen. This gave me the idea to download a bunch of apps and come up with some reviews and recommendations. I already have a number of apps, both iPhone and iPad, but I've downloaded some more and will be testing them out over the next few weeks. Most of these will be free apps, but some won't be...I'll waste my money, so you don't have to.

Let me know if you have any favorite travel apps or favorite California travel apps. Tomorrow I will let you know what I think of the new Visit California iPad app.

  1. Great blog! I used to live in Santa Barbara and it remains one of my favorite places in the world. As for apps my favorite is one I learned about through my job at DISH. It’s called the DISH Remote Access app, and using it in conjunction with the Sling Adapter on my receiver, I can watch live or recorded TV on my phone or tablet…any time, anywhere in the world, as long as I have a 3G or wifi connection. I love it, especially when travelling…it’s perfect for killing time at the airport.

    1. Thanks so much for the compliment. I haven't been to Santa Barbara yet, but have heard from friends that it is, indeed, wonderful. It is on my list of California spots to visit. Thanks for the app tip. I have DirecTV, but I think they may have something similar. I love apps that help you pass the time when you're traveling. I must confess that Bejeweled Blitz is my favorite time killing app. Although, I have some movies downloaded to my iPad for when I'm on the plane.
