Help the San Francisco Zoo Spread the Word about Zoo Camp this Summer!

(Photo courtesy of the San Francisco Zoo.)

I just received an e-mail from the San Francisco Zoo featuring the following special offer:

We still have space and we are hoping that you'll help us spread the word about our award winning camp program. In partnership with the Zoo's Adopt-an-Animal program, we will send a complimentary Adopt-an-Animal package (Basic package - a $50 value) if you successfully refer two additional campers to our Zoo Camp program. Your Adopt-an-Animal package will include: a fact sheet, a plush toy, a photograph of your animal and a special invitation for two people to our annual ZooParent Day on Saturday, July 25, 2009. Send an e-mail to zoocamp@sfzoo.org with a copy of your Zoo Camp registration receipt and the names of the two campers you have referred. Once their registrations have been completed you will be contacted to receive your Adopt-an-Animal gift. For more details, visit www.sfzoo.org/zoocam

I can tell you that the Adopt-an-Animal package is very nice. I received one of these for my birthday. I also just received my invitation to the ZooParent Day and wish that I could go as it sounds like it is a great event. I plan to continue to be an adoptive zoo parent next year and am hopeful that I can attend the ZooParent Day then.

So, if you are able to take advantage of this offer, I definitely recommend doing so. Zoo Summer Camp runs through August 21 and is for kids from preschool age through the 7th grade.

Bay Area Things To Do Links and More

USA Today has a feature on locals' picks of things to do in San Francisco. The article cites Matthew Poole who wrote Frommer's San Francisco Free & Dirt Cheap and is the co-founder LocalGetaways.com. Local Getaways is a website featuring tips and deals for Northern California destinations. Also featured in the article are tips from In the Kitchen with Lisa. In the Kitchen offers "intimate culinary excursions in San Francisco, Napa Valley, and West Marin in Sonoma County for individuals and groups looking to go behind-the-scenes with a local expert for a taste of the remarkable food culture that exists in these regions." Finally, some tips are offered by San Francisco City Guides. The USA Today site also features some links to other articles about Bay Area tourism.
